Psalm 130 is a both a cry of despair to God, and also a statement of conviction that the individual will wait for God, more than the watchmen will wait for the morning. The speaker knows that however distant he or she may feel from God, God is surely there, God will be there. This piece of chazzanut is a dramatic statement of faith.
